After scoring a goal to help Edo Queens to a 3-0 win over Commercial of Ethiopia FC in their opening match of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League, forward, Folashade Ijamilusi is sure of another win in their second game.

The Nigerian champions are up against FC Masar from Egypt in their second Group B game on Wednesday.

A win here will almost seal a place in the semi-final for Moses Aduku’s side.

“It’s just a straight win for us. There is nothing to say but going there to win,” Ijamilusi told CAF TV.

“We are motivated. We will try to do more of goal scoring but the first thing is to win.

“The atmosphere is okay and good. We are going for a win just as I said.” She affirmed.

Apart from a penalty loss to Nasarawa Amazons in the semi-final of the Betsy Obaseki Women’s Football Tournament (BOWFT) on home soil last month, the Nigerian champions are yet to taste defeat since winning the league and WAFU-B titles.

Since the inception of the tournament in 2021, a Nigerian team has not gone unbeaten in the group stage.

Both Rivers Angels (2021) and Bayelsa Queens (2022) tasted defeats in the group stage.

Edo Queens will hope to go unbeaten against FA Masar and holders, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies.
