The 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super 4 took centre stage with two games on the opening matchday at the Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna State on Thursday.

Holders of the league and top-ranked beach soccer club in Africa, Kebbi BSC had a big win over their rivals Kebbi United BSC in the opening match.

The two-time league winner had a swell match with two goals each from Hassan Abdullahi and Fuwad Badmus coupled with a goal each by Ekene Obi and Manga Hamza.

Usman Muhammad and Monday Joseph pulled two goals back for the second team from Kebbi State in the league.

The second match between host Kada BSC and Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors was a nine-goal thriller with the Nnewi-based side securing a 5-4 win.

Obinna Nwagba’s side raced to a 2-0 lead and surrendered the advantage before extending it to 5-2.

A rally from Kada Stars could not prevent a defeat with two goals from Dozie Frank coupled with a goal each by Victor Tale and Tanko Emmanuel.

Emeka Ogbonna scored a hat-trick while Ekwo Stanley and Clement Eganosi converted a goal each for Anambra BSW.

The two teams that secured victories on Matchday One, Kebbi BSC and Anambra BSW will face off in Matchday Two.

Kada BSC and Kebbi United BSC hope to return to winning ways when they trade tackles on Friday.
