By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Seven Nigeria Women Football League Premiership teams will vie for semi-final berths as the 2024 Women’s President Federation Cup quarter-final matches kick off on Wednesday.

At the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, Edo State, Nasarawa Amazons will face Remo Stars Ladies for the first time in a competitive match.

Remo Stars Ladies are following the successful path of their men’s team, Remo Stars FC, which is competing for a CAF Champions League spot as the NPFL season concludes next Sunday.

The same venue will also see Delta Queens take on Sunshine Queens. In their last league encounters, Delta Queens secured a 3-1 victory in Asaba, while the return leg saw Sunshine Queens triumph 2-1 at home.

In Asaba, NWFL Premiership sides FC Robo Queens and Naija Ratels FC will square off in another quarter-final clash.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, where Enugu Rangers recently clinched the NPFL title, will host the match between Osun Babes and Rivers Angels.

With these matchups, two top-flight teams are guaranteed to advance to the semi-finals. Meanwhile, relegated Sunshine Queens and second tier side Osun Babes will be aiming to pull off upsets against Delta Queens and Rivers Angels, respectively.
