By Wale Mustapha
Nigerian striker, Henry Onyekuru has again proved why deserve the Super Eagles recall, scoring twice in his Al Feiha’s 4-2 home defeat to Damac in the Saudi Premier League encounter on Friday.
The former Monaco frontman registered the consolation goals for his side in a match that also featured his Nigerian compatriot, Anthony Nwakaeme.
The visitors were in the driving seat at half time leading by two goals through Kevin Nkoudou and Abdulaziz AlShahrani.
Onyekuru reduced the deficit with 11 minutes into restart with a fine finish off a good pass from Konan.
Damac restored the two goal cushion soon after as Nkodou capitalized on a defensive let off.
The Nigerian forward make it 2-3 in the 69th minutes with an incredible finish from Fashion Sakala’s assist.
Onyekuru has however scored five goals with two assists from 15 games for the Saudi club.
Al Feiha mounted a late pressure on their visitors as they went in search of the equalizer.
However, they left their rear guard opened as Damac punished them with a counter attack that resulted into fourth goal through Assan Ceesay.
It was a bad day in office for Al Feiha but Onyekuru would take solace in making a significant impact with his goals which can see him make a return to the national team.
