University of Lagos (UNILAG) student, Subomi Ogundele is on cloud nine after winning her first ever title with Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Remo Stars Ladies.

The Sky Blue Ladies thrashed Castmog FA 4-0 to retain the 2025 Ogun state FA Cup at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.

The former Nigerian University Games (NUGA) top goal scorer took to her social media pages to express her joy.

“Breaking New Ground with Remo Stars Ladies! 🏆.
Winning my first tournament with Remo Stars Ladies and lifting the Ogun State FA Cup is a moment I’ll cherish forever!,” She posted.

“This victory isn’t just about the trophy—it’s about hard work, resilience, and the belief that every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

“From the first day I joined this team, I knew we were building something special. To now stand as champions in our very first tournament together is proof of our dedication and teamwork. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait for what’s ahead!

“A huge thank you to my teammates, coaches, and everyone who has supported this journey. Here’s to more wins, more growth, and making history!”

Subomi made a scoring debut for Wemimo Mathew’s side during Matchday one of the 2024/25 (NWFL) Premiership season against Confluence Queens in a 3-1 victory.

Before joining Remo Stars Ladies, Ogundele captained non league side, Alimosho Ladies.

A multiple achiever in academics and sports, she has won numerous accolades including NUGA Games top goal scorer and Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Recently, she won bronze medal with UNILAG female football team at the All African University Games (FASU 2024).
