As the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Super Six approaches, Coach Moses Aduku of Edo Queens has recognized that his team will be the primary focus for their competitors.
Reflecting on their remarkable accomplishments from the previous season, Aduku remarked that Edo Queens has established itself as a significant contender in Nigerian women’s football.
The current champions secured the NWFL Super Six title in Yenagoa and advanced to the semi-finals of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
“To date, we have played 14 NWFL matches, achieving 11 victories, 2 draws, and only 1 loss,’ Aduku stated during a press conference. ‘The players and management have performed admirably throughout the regular season.” He pointed out that while their progress has been impressive, the true test lies ahead.
“We are only at the midpoint. The Super Six will present challenges, and the pressure will be on me. Every team will be striving to defeat Edo Queens,” he noted.
“However, both the players and I are prepared. We will enter the tournament with a strong focus on defending our title.”
Edo Queens clinched their maiden league title in Yenegoa last season and reached the semi final of the CAF Champions League under Aduku.
This is the third season in charge of the team for the coach since he left Bayelsa Queens after winning the 2021/22 league title.
