Michelle Alozie opens up on football, medicine and retirement plans

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria star Michelle Alozie, who is based in the United States of America (USA), says it was alarming to decide to play football as a career given her medical background.

The Houston Dash player is an integral part of her Club and national team.

She decided to play for the Super Falcons despite spending most of her life in the US.

“Our parents always wanted us to be doctors, lawyers, and engineers,” She told Togethxr.

“Deciding to be a footballer was alarming with my medical background up to the eighth grade. I realized that I can do something here.”

Outside football, Michelle works part-time as a cancer researcher.

“I think education spurred us up to make sure we have a degree. I loved sciences. It’s just an area of interest to me in school,” She added.

“It’s something I want to do once my football career is over. I just want to be around people and help as many as I can.” She concluded.

Alozie is set to play crucial roles for the Super Falcons in their charge to win their 10th African title in Morocco this year.

In the NWSL, she also gets that huge role with Houston Dash amidst huge opposition from Orlando Pride, Washington Spirit, and Kansas City Current, amongst other teams.
