Gallas suggests Manchester United as ideal Premier League destination for Osimhen

By Wale Mustapha

Former France and Arsenal defender William Gallas has suggested that Manchester United would be a more suitable Premier League destination for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen than Arsenal or Chelsea.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Napoli, has been linked with a number of top European clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United, ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Osimhen came close to joining Chelsea last season, the move collapsed over wage disagreements.

As speculation surrounding his future intensifies, Gallas believes United’s current project and lower short-term expectations make them a better fit for the Super Eagles forward.

“I think Victor Osimhen can become a star in the Premier League—he has the right profile,” Gallas said in an interview with Prime Casino.

“He can stretch play and backlines. Another attacker can run into the space he makes, and he could be useful for any club in the Premier League.”

Gallas, who also played for Chelsea and Tottenham, noted the potential adaptation period Osimhen may need and compared his possible trajectory to that of Cristiano Ronaldo’s early days at United.

“We’ve seen it before—foreign players often need time. Even Ronaldo wasn’t the Ronaldo we know in his first season,” he said.

“Arsenal need instant results to compete for the title. United, on the other hand, are building toward a top-four finish and can afford to give him time.”

Osimhen has scored 31 goals and provided seven assists in 36 appearances this season for Galatasaray, reinforcing his value ahead of what could be a high-profile summer move.
