OFFICIAL: OGC Nice complete Kevin Carlos transfer in undisclosed deal

OGC Nice have confirmed the signing of striker Kevin Carlos from Swiss Super League side FC Basel in an undisclosed deal, with the forward set to link up immediately with Francesco Farioli’s squad.
The move comes as a timely boost for Les Aiglons, who began their Ligue 1 campaign with a disappointing defeat.
Eligible to represent both Spain and Nigeria, Carlos is expected to form a potent attacking partnership with Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi.
“I am very happy to be joining OGC Nice. It’s an ambitious club, and I am looking forward to discovering the Allianz Riviera, the supporters, and my new teammates,” Carlos said after signing his contract.
“I arrive with enthusiasm, determination, and the goal of helping the team go as far as possible.”
Carlos enjoyed a productive season with Basel in 2024/25, netting 15 goals across 39 appearances, including 23 starts. Across 2,298 minutes of action, his physicality, work rate, and relentless pressing made him a constant threat to opposition defenders.
Nice sporting director Florian Maurice praised the 23-year-old’s versatility and profile.
“What attracted us was his profile as a modern centre forward: powerful, capable of playing as a target man or attacking in behind,” Maurice explained.
“He has a strong presence in duels, both on the ground and in the air, and although right-footed, he can finish with both feet, which is a valuable asset.”
Carlos will be hoping to make his debut at the Allianz Riviera this Saturday when Nice host AJ Auxerre in their first home fixture of the season.
