NPFL: Eguma attributes Enyimba’s draw against Rivers United to missed chances

By Wale Mustapha

Enyimba FC Technical Adviser Stanley Eguma has attributed his team’s goalless draw against Rivers United to wasted opportunities in front of goal.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash on Sunday in Aba saw the People’s Elephants dominate proceedings but fail to convert their chances, resulting in a 0-0 stalemate against the visitors from Port Harcourt.

Eguma acknowledged the intensity and quality of the encounter, praising his players for their effort despite the frustrating outcome.

“It was a good game, a very interesting one that had all the hallmarks of a top-flight Premier League match. My players gave their best, but we were wasteful in front of goal,” Eguma said after the match.

“In the first half, we created several clear chances that could have made the difference, but we just couldn’t take them.”

Despite the draw, Enyimba retained second place on the NPFL table and will prepare to face Kun Khalifat FC in a local derby at Aba next Sunday.
