CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United skipper wants a convincing win over Al Nasr

Rivers United skipper, Festus Austin is saying that the team wants to win convincingly when they host Al Nasr on Wednesday evening in Port Harcourt.
The Port Harcourt-based side will on Wednesday welcome Al Nasr Benghazi of Libya in the first leg of the final Preliminary Round of the 2022/2023 CAF Confederation Cup.
“We know that our game with El Nasr Benghazi of Libya is going to be very difficult and we are prepared for it,” Austin said on Brila FM this week.
“The win is important to us and entire Nigeria as well as the good people of Rivers State.”
Nigerian Champions, Rivers United dropped from top flight CAF Champions League after a 7-2 aggregate defeat in the hands of holders, Wydad Casablanca.
“We would do our best and go all out with 100% commitment and I know that we are going to get it right,” former Enyimba defender continued.
“The first in Nigeria and the return leg in Libya. We just have to go all out and win convincingly which I am confident that we will get it right.”
Al Nasr Benghazi defeated AS Kigali 1-0 on aggregate to make it to this stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
In the Libyan Premier League, Al Nasr Benghazi occupy the third position after earning a 3-1 win over Al-Suqoor in its solitary game of the season. The winner of the two-legged match on aggregate will qualify for the group stage.
