IMC rebrands Nigeria Professional Football League to Nigeria Premier Football League

In the process of rebranding the Nigerian elite division, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) have  changed the name of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The former name – Nigeria Professional Football League was given to the country’s topflight by the defunct League Management Company (LMC) ahead of the 2012/2013 season.

The latest development means the Nigerian biggest league has been changed numerous times from Nigerian Premier League, Nigerian Premiership, Nigerian Professional League, Nigerian National League first division and the Nigerian Professional Football League as we hope this brings a new leaf to the league.

The NPFL will kick-off on 8th of January 2023 at Godswill Akpabio stadium in the match between Akwa United and Bendel Insurance. The other nine matches of week one will hold on 14th and 15th of January 2023.
