Dr. Terry Eguaoje Earns US Soccer Badge to Boost Coaching Education in Nigeria

The Head of Coaching Education for the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Terry Eguaoje, has secured a new coaching qualification from the US Soccer Federation, earning the credential to teach the prestigious B License course.
This latest achievement represents a significant milestone in Dr. Eguaoje’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and modernize coaching education across Nigeria. Since joining the NFF, he has played a central role in raising coaching standards nationwide, facilitating programs under the Confederation of African Football and organizing a range of impactful training initiatives.
Among his notable accomplishments is the introduction of Nigeria’s first-ever all-women CAF C and B License courses—an important step toward inclusivity and broader participation in football coaching.
Looking ahead, Nigeria is on track to be readmitted into the CAF Convention A framework, which will allow the country to host its own A License coaching course as early as August 2026. This development is expected to further elevate the quality and global recognition of Nigerian coaches.
Speaking on his new certification, Dr. Eguaoje expressed appreciation for the support he has received and reaffirmed his commitment to continuous improvement.
“This is a new challenge to do more,” he said. “Every opportunity has its own demand.”
Dr. Eguaoje’s extensive qualifications include UEFA A and B licenses, a US Soccer A license, as well as specialized certifications in goalkeeping, futsal, and director of coaching programs—underscoring his depth of expertise and dedication to football development.
