Taiwo Afolabi shares personal ambition at 2023 WAFU-B Women’s Cup with Nigeria

Nigeria U20 midfielder Taiwo Afolabi has revealed her dream of winning the WAFU-B U20 Women’s Cup in Kumasi, Ghana.
Afolabi was part of the U17 FIFA Women’s World Cup bronze winning Flamingos before being promoted to the Falconets for the ongoing U20 women’s tournament, where they opened their campaign with a 7-0 win over Niger.
And the 16-year-old midfielder is delighted to make the Falconets party and has attributed her fantastic rise to her club.
“I feel great full to God and I feel good because it’s a dream come true for me to graduate from the U17 to U20 and that shows am improving everyday,” Afolabi told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“It’s a special feeling which I can’t explain it with thousand of words because my parents, family and friends are all happy, proud of my exploits and that is a special feeling for me, which motivates me to keep improving because I still have a long way to go.
When asked on her target with the team at the competition, the Delta Queens midfielder admits her desire to gain more exposure and improve her ability and experience.
“My target is to perform well and help the team in my own way to win the competition and I believe with God everything is possible.
“Adapting to the national team coaches tactics is like having another teacher when you move to another class.
“You have to be ready for what’s coming and I’m always ready to learn when the coach is teaching me or correcting me because I want to improve everyday”
