Nigeria playmaker, Rasheedat Ajibade set semi-final target at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Ajibade would miss the Super Falcons first group game against Canada due to suspension but she’s eligible for the other two games against Australia and New Zealand.
Despite her absence from the opener, the Atletico Madrid forward believes her current teammate can surpass 1999 Women’s World Cup, stressing that they have the right mentality to succeed.
“We wish to go past the quarter final stage of the 1999 squad, we always wish to supersede every record that everyone has made and the most important thing is that we have to act, we have to do the job,” Ajibade told NigeriaFootball.ng exclusively.
“We have to perform on the field which is the most important thing. We will put everything in the hands of God, we will do our part as humans and put in the physical effort, everything and let the will of God be done.
“We are going with the passion to do more, to win more and supersede every other record that have been set in the past. Those ones have made their record and this is our own time to set ours and do something new. It’s left for us to give our best on the field.”
The Atletico Madrid forward will be making her second appearance at the World Cup after she debuted at the 2019 edition.
