Amaju Pinnick calls out popular artist Davido at Warri Again Show

Former Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has called out one of the most influential music artists in Africa – Davido for breach of contract.
The 52-year-old voiced his disappointment as ‘Mr. Unavailable’ did not turn up for the annual ‘Warri Again’ event on Friday, October 6, despite being paid a large sum.
In a viral video on X, Pinnick is captured on the stage at the event, while holding a microphone and calling out the multi-award-winning Nigerian singer, for allegedly refusing to perform at the event which was held in Warri, Delta State, despite paying him an excess of N105 million ($94,600) and also booking a private jet to fly him in.
Amaju further revealed that the organizers eventually had to recruit the services of up-and-coming Benin-based rap star Shallipopi.
The NFF board member also aimed a dig at the 30BG leader claiming the singer was egotistical amid the unending debate on the biggest music star in Nigeria by holding up Burna Boy as the biggest musician in Nigeria’.
Amaju who is the First Vice President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) from September 2018 to July 2019, claimed no Nigerian Superstar is bigger than the ones produced in Warri.
He referenced Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) as the best in the movie industry, Basketmouth in the comedy industry while asserting that he became a FIFA member from Warri.
“We paid him [Davido] $94,600 on the 6th of April, we paid a plane (private) $18,000, get a plane in the airport. But somehow, he says he be big boy, we go tell am say we big pass am.
“You see when people say them big, I just dey laugh. The biggest artiste in Nigeria today, no be Burna Boy? Burna Boy is half Itsekiri. Burna Boy’s paternal grandmother is Itsekiri. So, he big pass am [Davido].
“I’m not joking. So, while he was playing his games back and forth, we decided to hunt to find another artiste, Shallipopi.
“Is there anyone bigger than RMD in the acting industry? Or someone bigger than Ali Baba in the comedy industry?
“We have stars aplenty in Warri. Nobody is bigger than Warri.”
