Former Nigeria midfielder, Mikel Obi, has trolled his former Chelsea teammates, Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou for not having their statues in their home country.
The former Chelsea star is in town for the AFCON 2023 draw, which will take place at the Parc des Expositions in Abidjan tonight (October 12).
The trio played together at Chelsea and were part of the famous Chelsea squad that defeated Bayern Munich to win the UEFA Champions League in 2012.
Mikel won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner with Nigeria and also a three-time AFCON bronze medallist with the Super Eagles.
Speaking on his social media, after landing in Cote d’Ivoire, Mikel Obi dragged former Chelsea teammates Salomon Kaou and Didier Drogba for not inviting him to the beautiful country during their time together.
“I’m in Ivory Coast and I’m loving it. My first time here, I’ve never been here before.
“You know I asked Didier Drogba and Kalou to invite me before but as stingy as they are, nope.
“I’m here and I hope I would see their statues here, both of them, nothing. Absolutely, nothing (laugh).
“When you come out of Airport in Nigeria, the first thing you’ll see is my statue.”
