Ogude Sees Red as Amkar Perm Faces Disheartening Defeat to Arsenal Tula
In a challenging Russian Premier League clash, Fegor Ogude, a member of Nigeria’s triumphant squad in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, faced an early exit when he received a red card during Amkar Perm’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal Tula on Friday. The match also featured the talents of Super Eagles invitee Brian Idowu and Nigerian striker Aaron Samuel.
Ogude, entering the game in the 74th minute, had a brief and eventful appearance as he earned a straight red card just two minutes later. The dismissal added to Amkar Perm’s woes, as Dmitri Belorukov received a second yellow card in the 80th minute, leaving the team with only nine players on the field.
The visitors capitalized on their numerical advantage, securing victory with goals from Artem Dzyuba and Sergey Tkachev, both converted from the penalty spot in the 11th and 83rd minutes.
This defeat marks Amkar Perm’s second consecutive winless game since the resumption of the second phase of the Russian first division on March 2. Currently occupying the 14th position with 22 points, they find themselves in the relegation play-off zone in the 16-team league table.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Amkar Perm remains focused on turning the tide in upcoming fixtures and regaining momentum in the Russian Premier League.
