Ademola Lookman sets Atalanta’s record with goal against Torino

By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigerian international Ademola Lookman scored his 10th league goal of the season, setting another record in Atalanta’s comfortable 3-0 victory over Torino.
The Super Eagles star was the unsung hero for Atalanta in midweek, prompting coach Gian Piero Gasperini to give him a starting spot again against the Bulls.
Lookman’s goal marked his 10th in Serie A and 16th in all competitions for La Dea this term, making him the fourth Atalanta player this season to reach double figures in the league. He joins Gianluca Scamacca (12), Teun Koopmeiners (12), and Charles De Ketelaere (10) in achieving this feat for Gasperini’s men in the 2023/24 season.
The 26-year-old had opportunities to add to his Serie A tally, but he saw two second-half goals disallowed—one due to a Scamacca foul in the buildup and the other flagged for offside shortly after.
The victory ensures that Atalanta will not finish lower than fourth this season as they prepare to face Fiorentina in their final game.
