Asisat Oshoala wins Uefa Women Champions League’s best goal award

Nigerian striker Asisat Oshoala has won the UEFA Women’s Champions League Goal of the Season award.

According to UEFA’s Technical Observer panel, the Super Falcons forward earned the award for her stunning bicycle kick finish against Benfica in the opening group stage encounter.

Oshoala’s teammate at Barcelona, Aitana Bonmati, took second spot for her curling finish in the quarter-final second-leg win against Brann.

Lyon’s Delphine Cascarino came third for her long-range strike in the quarter-final second-leg victory over Benfica.

Oshoala left Barcelona in February to join the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side Bay FC.

She made an immediate impact by scoring on her debut in Bay FC’s 1-0 victory over Angel City.
