OGC Manager, Francesco Farioli, has hinted at a potential return for Nigerian international Terem Moffi ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Moffi sustained a hamstring injury that would reportedly prevent him from playing for his club for more than four weeks
However, the 24-year-old is named in Jose Peseiro’s submitted 55-man provisional list for the tournament scheduled for January 2024.
Farioli in his pre-match comment suggested that Moffi could feature in the game against RC Lens at the Allianz Riviera Stadium on Wednesday.
“We will try to get him. Today he will train with the team, we will see how he reacts,” the manager told media.
“We hope to get it back but we won’t take any unnecessary risks. If the player feels like it, he will be in the game, otherwise, we will do without.” Farioli stated via the club’s website.
The Nigerian was introduced in the 72nd minute for Gaetan and scored a fantastic brace.
It is yet to be known if he is fit enough for the continental masterpiece slated for Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
