By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Ahead of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote D’Ivoire, Nigeria actor, Charles Okocha has confirmed that he does not watch games of Nigeria’s senior men’s national team.

Super Eagles are set to face Equatorial Guinea, Cote D’Ivoire, and Equatorial Guinea in Group A of the competition slated to kick off on January 13, 2024.

Okocha stated that he is not a fan of the round leather game.

Instead, he prefers combat, mixed martial arts, and boxing instead of football.

“I never really fancied football, I don’t watch it and don’t really watch Super Eagles either,” Okocha stated as captured by bestschoice.com.ng

“For me, give me the combat sports, MMA, boxing, those are the sports I enjoy. I like MMA a lot and I try to watch it whenever I can.”

Okocha who on December 26 lost a boxing match to singer Portable in Lagos, named two MMA fighters as his favourite athletes.

“I really love Israel Adesanya, he is my kind of guy, flashy, and always delivers. He is great at what he does, and I am sure if he returns, he will reclaim his titles. I also like Kamaru Usman, even though he is going through a difficult spell too right now.”

Nigeria artistes have shown their support and solidarity for the Super Eagles ahead of the tournament.

Recently Odumodublvck dolled out his potential Super Eagles starting lineup this week.
