Head Coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Jose Peseiro is not sure if his left back, Zeidu Sanusi will be available for the 2023 African Cup of Nations, AFCON final against Ivory Coast.
The FC Porto’s left back sustained injury towards closing stage of Super Eagles’ win over Angola in the quarterfinal.
He missed out of the team’s semifinal clash against South Africa on Wednesday with Ola Aina drafted to left back while Bright Osayi-Samuel make the starting team as wing back.
Speaking after the victory over the Bafana Bafana in Bouake on Wednesday, Peseiro could not give assurance of the player making the final.
“I don’t know if he (Sanusi) can recover, I hope he can recover for the next match but he’s out now because of injury,” the Portuguese manager told media.
“He didn’t do any practice these last few days, so I can’t give you direct answer.”
Sanusi has featured in five games for the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cote d’Ivoire.
