Afcon 2023: Jose Peseiro’s hiring Nigeria’s greatest mistake ever – Gara-Gombe

Foremost Nigeria football stakeholder and administrator, Ahmed Gara-Gombe has berated the reappointment of Jose Peseiro as head coach of the national team.

The Super Eagles under Peseiro have been far from convincing, including a poor goalkeeping department.

The former Gombe State FA chairman said hiring Peseiro was a costly error in the history of Nigeria football with no tangible achievement to his name, stressing Peseiro have no patterns and the players struggles to win matches.

“In the first place, hiring Peseiro for the Super Eagles was one of the greatest mistakes we have ever made in the history of our football. Since he took over, what is the outcome?” Gara-Gombe told Channels TV.

“Nigeria does not have a pattern, a style of play, and we struggled to win games.

“Let us go and keep on trying our cut and paste strategy, our wobble and fumble strategy.”

The Super Eagles will be chasing their fourth title in Ivory Coast.
