AFCON 2023: Nwankwo Kanu hopeful Nigeria will overcome against Ivory Coast

African football icon, Nwankwo Kanu has talked up the chances of Nigeria to beat Ivory Coast in their Matchday Two of African Cup of Nations,AFCON) Group A clash on Thursday.
The Super Eagles will be more under pressure when then they take on the Elephants as they require a win, or worst, a draw to be in good position for the next round.
Ivory Coast saw off the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau by 2-0 in the opening match of the tournament on Saturday with goals from Seko Fofana and Jean-Phillipe Krasso while the Super Eagles on the other hand held Equatorial Guinea to a 1-1 draw.
Kanu who captained Nigeria to the 2012 edition of AFCON expressed believe in the Jose Peseiro’s men and has backed them to win the encounter billed for Alassane Ouattara Stadium.
“All the teams fear Nigeria,” the two-time CAF Player of the Year told reporters.
“We believe we have a team of top talents who have a good chance against Cote d’Ivoire in their next game, I will back them to win this game.”
