Alex Iwobi reveals: “Why I wear black boots”

Nigeria International, Alex Iwobi has revealed the reason for wearing black boots and his descison to refuse lucrative sponsorship deals from global sportswear giants.
The 27-year-old in a conversation sparked by a fan’s inquiry about his preference for black boots, revealed his stance citing his love for simplicity and the freedom to wear any sports brand.
Professional athletes often sign lucrative sponsorship deals with leading sportswear brands in deals that can amount to staggering sums, ranging from ₦ 75 million to ₦ 150 million ($50,000 to $100,000) and even beyond.
However, for his freedom of fashion and simplicity, the Super Eagles has refused to identify with any special brand but his marketability remains undiminished.
“Is there any meaning behind the blacks boots or you js really love black boots?” – a curious fan questioned the Fulham star.
“I’ve Always Loved Black Boots, Simplicity… Also I Like Having The Freedom Of Wearing Any Sports Brand & Clothes I Like, Hence Why I’m Sticking To No Sponsorship Or Any Deals,” Iwobi responded and posted on his IG stories.
