Alice Ogebe has announced her departure from Egyptian champions FC Masar after an impressive spell with the club.
The Nigeria women’s national football team forward scored 23 goals in 41 appearances during her time with the Egyptian side.
Ogebe confirmed her exit in an interview with Idoma TV on Monday, expressing gratitude to the club and everyone associated with it.
“Yes, I have left the club. It was such a memorable time there.
“First, I appreciate God Almighty for the journey from the beginning to the end.
“I want to use this opportunity to say a very big thank you to my team, FC Masar — the board members, the management, the captains, my precious teammates, my special kids (Right to Dream), all the staff, and the fans.
“I enjoyed every single moment with you all.”
The striker admitted that leaving the club was not part of the original plan but acknowledged that movement is part of a footballer’s career.
“Leaving was not what we planned, but football is all about movement. We keep moving, but our home will always be our home, and FC Masar will always remain my home.
“I love you all. It is hard to say goodbye.”
Ogebe now looks set for a new chapter in her career after making a strong impact during her time in Egypt.
