Anam Imo’s brace fires Rosengård into Champions League progression

Nigeria international Anam Imo struck twice as FC Rosengård cruised to a commanding 5–0 victory over Ljuboten in the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round on Wednesday.
The former Piteå forward opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 44th minute, setting the Swedish champions on their way. After the break, Filippa Sjöström doubled the advantage in the 52nd minute before Imo grabbed her second of the night with a well-taken finish.
Substitute Emilia Larsson added two late goals to complete the rout and seal Rosengård’s progress.
Imo was withdrawn for Isabella Tryggvadottir in the 81st minute, while her compatriot Halimatu Ayinde also featured, starting the match before being replaced by Elli Pikkujamsa in the 74th minute.
The emphatic result moves Rosengård a step closer to another UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage campaign, underlining their ambitions to make a strong impression in Europe this season.
