Arsenal star Bukayo Saka lands in Nigeria for vacation and charity works

English midfielder of Nigerian descent, Bukayo Saka has arrived in Nigeria on vacation after the 2022/2023 season with English Premier League side, Arsenal FC.
Saka was born in Erlang, Greater London, to Yoruba Nigerian parents, Adenike and Yomi Saka, and was the younger of two children after his parents emigrated to London from Nigeria as economic migrants.
The Arsenal midfielder arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on Wednesday to the surprise and amazement of fans wanting to take selfies with him.
The Nigerian-born played a crucial role in the Gunners’ second-placed finish in the Premier League with 14 goals and 11 assists for Mikel Arteta’s side as the team qualified for the UEFA Champions League after a long absence.
The former Arsenal U-18 and U-23 player recently extended his contract with the London side and hopes to achieve more success with the team.
Many had expected Saka to play for the Nigeria senior national team but he opted to done the shirt of the Three Lions instead.
He missed a penalty as England lost on penalties to Italy in the final of UEFA Euro 2020 which took place in 2021 on home soil raising backlash from English football fans.
In November 2022, Saka had teamed up with charity organisation BigShoe to cover 120 life-changing operations for children in Kano, Nigeria, helping change the lives of the children who were all suffering from diseases such as inguinal hernias, umbilical hernias and brain tumours.
