Bala Nikyu attributes Nasarawa United home loss against Enyimba to ill-luck

Head coach of Nasarawa United, Bala Nikyu has blamed ill-luck for his side’s 2-1 home defeat against Enyimba.
First half goals from Elijah Akanni and Imo Obot ensured Enyimba condemned the Solid Miners to an opening day defeat in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) at the Jos International Stadium on Saturday.
Despite the false start, the former Nigeria U17 national team head coach, expressed his disappointment, while
defending his goalkeeper in the face of crisitism over his poor display between display.
“Well how do I put it, it’s like the game was destined to be like that but the major thing is that it’s quite a long time we have played a strong match,” Nikyu told media.
“So I think we are match rusty and that one affected us. We are prepared like any other team in the Premiership. Football is like that sometimes, this goalkeeper you saw today has been very fantastic, he has been very fantastic, it’s just that he came out on a bad day, he has been doing very well.
“He came out on a bad day and we have to take it like that. We cannot crucify him for making mistakes, and of course, like you saw in the second half, everybody in the team is as good as any other person so that’s why if you want to make substitutions I don’t have doubt on any other person on the bench.”
