By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
In one of the most emphatic victories in Nigeria National League (NNL) history, Beyond Limits Football Academy delivered a stunning 7-0 demolition of Igbajo United on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The Ikenne-based side made a bold statement on Matchday 21 with a ruthless display that contributed to a 30-goal thriller across Conferences A and B.
The victory, one of the biggest in NNL history in terms of goal margin without reply, etched Beyond Limits into the league’s record books and showcased their attacking prowess as three players each netted a brace.
Olamilekan Adegboyega opened the floodgates with a goal in the 2nd minute and added another in the 59th. Flying Eagles forward Daniel Arierhi followed up with goals in the 5th and 24th minutes, while Imrana Musa joined the brace club with strikes in the 29th and 43rd minutes. Oluwaseyi Ogunniyi also got in on the action with a goal in the 8th minute, capping a flawless first-half display.
Head coach Olumide Ayomide, who guided the team to the NNL title last season, expressed satisfaction with the historic result but remained focused on the broader picture.
<span;>> “We didn’t set out to make history,” Ayomide said post-match. “Today was about building on our past performances. This group is still growing, and I’m proud of how direct, intentional, and technically disciplined we were.”
Despite the scoreline, the 37-year-old tactician admitted there were missed chances that could have made the scoreline even more lopsided.
<span;>> “We could’ve been five or six goals up in the first half alone,” he added. “Igbajo didn’t defend well, and we didn’t convert all our chances. Still, the boys gave their all, and they’ll take valuable lessons from this.”
The dominant win boosts Beyond Limits’ morale heading into the final match of the 2024/2025 season. They currently sit 5th in the Conference standings, having scored 28 goals and conceded 21 for a +7 goal difference.
For Igbajo United, the defeat sealed a disappointing season. They remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just 10 points, a -24 goal difference, and only seven goals scored in the entire campaign, while conceding 31.
As the curtain prepares to fall on the season, Beyond Limits have not only reaffirmed their potential but also issued a clear message: they are a rising force with ambition, identity, and a coach with a championship pedigree.
