Ahead of the 2023 CAF Awards in Morocco, Nigerian fans are hoping for an exciting battle for the prestigious Player of the Year awards. Victor Osimhen, the talented Nigerian striker for Napoli, has emerged as one of the top contenders for the Men’s Player of the Year accolade, which a Nigerian player hasn’t won in 24 years.
However, Osimhen faces formidable competition from two-time winner Salah of Liverpool and Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain.
Osimhen’s impressive performance last season should make him a strong candidate. He scored 26 goals, leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, and played a crucial role in Nigeria qualifying for the upcoming AFCON.
The ceremony of the much-anticipated awards will start at 7 pm local time.
