In-form Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface produced another man of the match outing for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring one goal and providing another in their 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
The Super Eagles’ forward was fresh from a week rest after sitting out of the Die Werkself’s midweek Europa League encounter and didn’t waste much time to make his presence felt.
Boniface handed Leverkusen a 14th minute lead after twisting and turning before shooting into crowded Frankfurt defense.
Xabi Alonso’s men doubled their lead six minutes into restart with Jeremie Frimpong tapping home from close range after Kevin Trapp had parried Boniface’s curling effort to his path.
Boniface turned provider for Leverkusen’s third goal of the night as he combined well with strike partner, Florian Wirtz.
The 22 year old who is still in his first season in the German top flight has now contributed 16 goals for Leverkusen (9 goals, 7 assists) in the league.
The Die Werkself will be leading the log until the new year with a firm believe to win their first Bundesliga title after many years.
