CAF appoints Match Officials for Rivers United vs Les Aigles du Congo

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the appointment of Algerian referee Houssam Benyahia to take charge of the CAF Champions League first round, second leg clash between Rivers United FC of Nigeria and *FC Les Aigles du Congo.

The decisive encounter is scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, with kickoff set for 4:00pm (Nigeria time).

Benyahia will be supported by his compatriots:

Hamza Bouzit – Assistant Referee 1.
Haithem Bouima – Assistant Referee 2.

Loutfi Bekouassa – Fourth Official.

CAF also announced that the match will be commissioned by Munkaila Nassam Adam from Ghana.

Rivers United, widely regarded as the “Pride of Nigeria,” will be aiming to capitalize on home advantage to secure progression, while the “Eagles of Congo” look to upset the odds in Uyo.

The first leg ended in a 0-0 draw last week.
