The Abeokuta stadium has been designated by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a hub for inter-club competitions this season, with fixtures involving both Remo Stars and Kwara United set to be staged there.
Zilmadjou, unable to use their own ground due to CAF’s strict stadium compliance regulations, have again opted for Nigeria as their alternative home. The Comoros outfit followed a similar route last season when they played Rangers International at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Remo Stars’ decision to waive ticket fees is expected to boost attendance and generate a charged atmosphere as Daniel Ogunmodede’s side begin their continental campaign on familiar soil.
