CAF moves to postpone African Nations Championship

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is moving to postpone the start date of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) to be held next August instead of February.
According to Beinsports, there is the possibility of moving the tournament to August 2025.
The continental championship was scheduled to take place from February 1 to 28.
CAF is yet to make an official statement on the postponement of the tournament but preparation by the co-host will determine changes or otherwise
The draw for the competition is slated for Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the Kenyatta International Convention Center, Nairobi, Kenya.
A total of 19 counties, including the thee co-host and defending champions, Senegal, will be engaged in the draw to officially map out the tournament’s schedule.
Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania will co-host the tournament with the opportunity to test running facilities for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be co-hosted by the three nations.
