CAF opens window for 2023/24 African School Football Programme registration

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has opened the window for the 2023/2024 CAF African Schools Football Championship.
The window for registration opened on Thursday, July 27, 2023, for the second season of the championship.
The championship aimed to set a new bar in shaping the future of young Africans and 54 Member Associations (MA) are eligible to register schools that would field U-15 boys and girls for the Championship in a bid to be continental champions.
While Football is at the heart of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, the Programme has a number of impactful elements, including the “Young Referee Programme”, the “Young Reporter Programme” and the Safeguarding.
The above elements make the CAF African Schools Football Championship a legacy movement aimed at developing future African leaders on and off the field.
The registration period will be followed by the national qualifiers in August.
This will be followed by Zonal Qualifiers between October to December 2023 and the continental finals will be played in April 2024. The venue will be announced in due course.
Nigeria didn’t participate in the maiden editing and is expected to have learned from missing out on the last edition of the championship which would discover future stars for the nation.
