CAFCC Playoff: Suraj Ayeleso talks up Plateau United chances against Al-Akhder

Plateau United’s first choice goalkeeper, Suraj Ayeleso has expressed confidence that his side have their fates in their hands to qualify for the group stage of CAF Confederation Cup.

The Tin City club will look to seal their  progression to the group stage as they take on Al-Akhder on Wednesday in Libya.

The Fidelis Ilechukwu led side are holding on to their 4-1 first leg win in Abuja and must avoid a heavy defeat with a goal margin of three to seal their qualification.

Ayeleso who has being in top form Plateau United noted that they’ve done all they could in the first leg to ensure that the second becomes less difficult so they can avoid the repeat of their CAF Champions League ouster in Tunisia.

“We are going into this game with the mind set of qualifying for the group phase of the CAF Confederations cup and we’ve done the needful as regards preparation for it.

“I believe in the unity and determination of this unit and with what we’ve done in the first half, I see us putting through any challenges that may come in Libya and get our need ticket to the group stages,” he said.

Ayeleso said the circumstances of their elimination from the money spinning Champions League was the tonic for their recent form and how they’ve regrouped for the Confederation Cup.

“It was so devastating to be knocked out of Champions League like the way we did, its painful but we’ve moved on from that, that was why we gave in that performance in the first leg so the second can be easier so as to avoid a repeat of what happened in Tunisia”, He said.

The second leg match will go down on Wednesday November 9th 2022 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Libya wit kickoff time fixed for 9pm Nigerian time.
