Cesc Fabregas sends Antonio Conte warning to Tottenham Hotspur

Cesc Fabregas is already a very unpopular man among Tottenham fans, having lifted trophies with their two biggest rivals, and has now angered them further by suggesting that Antonio Conte could walk away from the club this summer.

Fabregas played under the Italian during their time together at Chelsea, forming a brilliant partnership with Nemanja Matic in the centre of the Blues’ midfield.

The Spaniard made 86 appearances under Conte, winning a Premier League and an FA Cup in the process, and knows the now-Spurs boss well.

And, speaking to London World, the World Cup winner warned that he could see Conte leaving the club this summer should Tottenham not make Champions League football this season.

“I said as soon as he joined Tottenham, ‘unfortunately, Spurs have a really good manager on their hands’, Fabregas claimed.

‘He had a very difficult job on his hands when he took over at Tottenham with the team in a low position.

‘I know Antonio very well, I have so much respect for him, we won a lot together and I can tell you that he is a serial winner. He will demand the best’, the midfielder continued.

‘Knowing him, if he doesn’t reach the Champions League or whatever objective he set at the beginning when he took the job, he’s capable of walking away.’

‘Not only because they failed, but because he will feel responsible. He will take it personally.’

Tottenham need north London derby win

To stand any chance of qualifying for the Champions League this season, Tottenham need to beat their north London rivals Arsenal. They sit 4 points behind the Gunners, and should they lose to Mikel Arteta’s side, they will see Arsenal head into Europe’s most prestigious competition in their stead.

Even if they win, they will need Arsenal to drop at least two points from their remaining fixtures.
