Charity Reuben bags brace, Chinaza Agoh scores as Al Ahly edge ZED FC

Nigeria duo, Charity Reuben and Chinaza Agoh were on target as Al Ahly pipped ZED FC 2-1 in the Egypt Women’s Premier League on Friday.

Reuben opened scoring for the host in the half-hour mark with a header.

Agoh restored parity in the 78th minute for ZED FC.

With the game close to a 1-1 stalemate, Reuben converted a late chance to win the match in the additional minutes of the second half.

Al Ahly remained one point in second place behind leaders and holders, FC Masar.

ZED FC seats in the seventh position with 32 points.

The two Nigerian players featured in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership where Reuben played for Bayelsa Queens before moving abroad.

Agoh won the 2021/22 NWFL Premiership title with Delta Queens and won the league Most Valuable Player award before moving to Saudi Arabia.
