Chiamaka Nnadozie: Nigeria goalkeeper signs contract extension with Paris FC

French D1 Arkema side, Paris FC has announced a contract extension with Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The positive development means the Nigerian international will remain with the capital club until June 2025.
The Super Falcons first choice shotstopper arrived at the club ahead of the 2020/2021 season after a superb FIFA Women’s World Cup in France and quickly established herself as the first choice for Sandrine Soubeyrand’s side.
With eight clean sheets, this season which is 50% of her matches in D1 Arkema, the Nigerian international has been offering high-level services for the capital club for three seasons now.
Chiamaka, therefore, continues her adventure within the club of the Capital and is now linked to Paris FC until June 2025.
“I am very happy to continue the adventure here at Paris FC. I thank the club and management for their trust,” Nnadozie told Paris FC website after extending her deal.
“I can’t wait to make all my biggest dreams come true with Paris FC, win trophies, and write the history of the club.”
She joined Paris FC from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Rivers Angels after helping the Port Harcourt-based side clinch the 2019/2020 league title.
During the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Nnadozie played all 4 matches. Against Haiti, she received the “Dare to Shine” Player of the Match award for her good performance.
After the U-20 Tournament, she was also selected for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations where she stayed on the bench for all five matches, then at the 2019 Women’s WAFU Cup she was in goal for the Super Falcons’ spectacular performance.
At age 19, Nnadozie was named to the senior national team to compete at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
As Nigeria’s starting goalkeeper in the team’s 2-0 victory over Korea, Nnadozie became the youngest goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet at the World Cup.
After the World Cup, Nnadozie again helped the Falconets to a Gold medal at the African Games in Morocco saving three penalties in the shootout against Cameroon.
Since then, she has become the first-choice goalkeeper for the Super Falcons participating in the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) where Nigeria qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup with a fourth-placed finish.
