Nigerian forward Chinwendu Ihezuo delivered a stellar performance for her Mexican Liga MX Women’s Clausura team, Pachuca, leading them to a resounding 4-0 victory over Toluca on Tuesday.
Ihezuo wasted no time in making an impact, scoring the opening goal of the match just five minutes into the game. She then showcased her prowess once again, netting her second goal just two minutes later to extend Pachuca’s lead.
In the second half, Veronica Corral added to Pachuca’s tally with a goal in the 57th minute. The victory was sealed with an own goal from Kayla Thompson in the dying minutes of the match.
Ihezuo, who played the full 90 minutes, demonstrated her consistency and goal-scoring ability, tallying her seventh goal of the campaign in just 10 games. Her compatriot, Osinachi Ohale, also featured prominently, playing the entire match for Pachuca.
With this win, Pachuca sits in fifth place on the league table with 23 points from ten games, trailing Monterrey by only five points.
Their next challenge will be against Santos Laguna on March 26, 2024, where Ihezuo will aim to maintain her impressive form and contribute further to Pachuca’s success in the Mexican league.
