Halimatu Ayinde, the Nigerian midfielder, opened her goal-scoring account for Swedish top-flight outfit FC Rosengard in their recent Svenska Cupen match against Vittsjo, which ended in a 3-0 victory for Rosengard.

The former Swedish league champions took an early lead in the fourth minute through Olivia Holdt. Ayinde then doubled the advantage for Rosengard with a goal in the 23rd minute of the game.

Despite missing a penalty opportunity just before halftime, Momoko Tanikawa redeemed herself by scoring Rosengard’s third goal in the 64th minute.

Ayinde showcased her prowess throughout the match, playing the full duration.

This marks Ayinde’s first goal of the season for FC Rosengard, and notably, it came in her first Cup game of the season for the team.

The victory propelled Rosengard to the top of the table alongside Linkoping FC, both teams tied on four points.

Rosengard’s next fixture is against bottom-of-the-table Göteborg on March 23, 2024, where Ayinde will be hoping to build on her goal-scoring form and contribute further to her team’s success.
