Christy Ucheibe assists SL Benfica to victory over Famalicao

Nigeria midfielder, Chrisy Ucheibe provided an assists as her Portuguese Liga BPI Women’s side, SL Benfica defeated Famalicao on Sunday.

Marie-Yasmine Alidou d’Anjou scored the first goal of the encounter in the first minutes of play at the Estadio Municipal de Fanalicao.

Two minutes later, Rita Dias equalised for the host as the game ended in a draw at half time.

The league champions restored their lead four minutes into the second half through Nycole Raysla Sobrinho.

Substitute, Ucheibe set up Andreia Norton who wrapped up the scoring for the visitors in the 90th minute.

She has scored a goal in the league this season and added her first assist to the statistics after replacing Beatriz Cameirao in the 82nd minute.

SL Benfica maintained their leadership position on the league table with 40 points from 14 games.

They have a three points lead over Sporting CP, their next opponent on February 1, 2025.
