Nigeria midfielder Frank Onyeka is on the verge of a return to the Premier League after playing a pivotal role in Coventry City’s push for promotion.
The industrious midfielder, who joined Coventry on loan from Brentford FC in January, has been instrumental in the club’s strong run of form this season, bringing energy and stability to the squad.
Coventry’s promotion ambitions received a further boost following favorable results elsewhere. Middlesbrough FC fell to defeat against Portsmouth FC, while Millwall FC were held to a draw by West Bromwich Albion.
These outcomes leave manager Frank Lampard and his Coventry side firmly on track for automatic promotion.
Currently sitting 12 points clear of third-placed Millwall with just four matches remaining, Coventry also boast a superior goal difference. A single point from their remaining fixtures will mathematically secure their return to the Premier League—ending a 25-year absence from the top flight.
