Date for Falconets World Cup Qualifiers against Malawi confirmed

The decisive final round fixture in the race for a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup has been confirmed, with Nigeria’s Falconets set to battle Malawi for a ticket to the global tournament.

The Nigeria women’s national under-20 football team secured their spot in the last round after edging Senegal women’s national under-20 football team 2-1 on aggregate in the previous stage of the qualifiers.

Malawi, meanwhile, advanced to the decisive round following an emphatic performance against Guinea-Bissau women’s national under-20 football team.

According to the released schedule, the first leg of the tie will be played in Nigeria between May 1 and 3, 2026. The return leg is slated for Blantyre, Malawi, between May 8 and 10, 2026.

With a place at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup at stake, both sides will be aiming to deliver strong performances over the two legs in what promises to be a fiercely contested showdown.
