Defunct FC Ifeanyi Ubah proprietor and sitting Senator dies at 48

The Proprietor of former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaigners, FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, passed on to eternity on Saturday.

The senator who is representing Anambra South Senatorial District was flown out of the country for medical treatment and died in a London hospital on Saturday.

According to www.leadership.ng, the condition of the senator became critical in the last 48 hours before his death whose cause is yet to be determined as at the time of this report.

The owner of Capital Oil and Gas Limited notably acquired Gabros International Football Club which he renamed FC Ifeanyi Ubah before the club was disbanded.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah won the President Federation Cup (FA Cup) once which was the major high points of the club’s existence.

The former Chairman of Anambra Football Association also established the Authority Newspaper, a national daily domiciled in Nnewi, Anambra State.

The Abuja-born businessman became an exporter of motorbikes and spare parts, majorly in West Africa, including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and DR Congo before he expanded his business ventures in some countries in Europe including Belgium and the United Kingdom.

He was elected as Senator under the umbrella of the Youth Political Party (YPP) in 2019 and re-elected five years later.

Before his death, he decamped from the YPP to the All Progressive Congress (APC) and has signified his intention to run for next year’s governorship election in Anambra state.
