Del Piero defends unquestionable Victor Osimhen vs Barcelona

Italy legend Alessandro Del Piero has leapt in defence of Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker was criticized for his performance against Barcelona.
The Partenopei held the Blaugrana to a 1-1 draw in Naples, but they were unable to replicate that performance in Catalonia, losing 3-1 and exiting the competition.
While Osimhen failed to score in the game, Del Piero believes that his performance can be attributed to the overall team effort.
Osimhen has scored 13 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season, including one in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg against Barcelona two weeks ago.
“Of course, when you play badly in an important match, you may feel down, but his [Osimhen’s] qualities are unquestionable,” Del Piero said according to Napoli Magazine.
“He put in maximum commitment, even if being flagged offside so many times is a little bit excessive.
“In general, he is in a very negative season for Napoli, and therefore, he has not faced everything that has happened in this season with a smile, but his attitude has always been positive.”
