Brazilian ex-goalkeeper Nélson de Jesus Silva, better known as Dida, has urged Nigeria international Maduka Okoye to maintain consistency in his performances in Serie A.
Having enjoyed a successful career in the Italian league with AC Milan, Dida warned Okoye about the challenges of sustaining top-level form.
“He is a goalkeeper who can do a lot in this championship, but this is a tough championship,” Dida said, emphasizing the mental and physical demands of Serie A.
“There are many things off the pitch that you have to manage,” he added.
Dida advised Okoye to stay focused on his professional duties both on and off the field, stressing the importance of constant training and work.
“He must have the ability to keep his mind only for his job and for what he is capable of doing,” Dida said. “A lot of training, work, and work, my advice is always that.”
Despite the challenges, Dida remains optimistic about Okoye’s potential in the Serie A, expressing confidence that with hard work, the former Watford goalkeeper will reach the top. “Work certainly pays off,” he added.
“He is a goalkeeper that I like a lot, who can do a lot in this championship.”
