The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Mohammed Sanusi (MON), on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), CP Miller G. Dantawaye, to discuss enhanced security collaboration for football activities across Abuja and beyond.

During the meeting, held at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Dr. Sanusi congratulated CP Dantawaye on his recent appointment and conveyed the goodwill of the NFF Executive Committee and Management.

Discussions focused on strengthening the partnership between the NFF and the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in ensuring robust security measures for football matches and related events hosted within the Federal Capital Territory.

Dr. Sanusi underscored the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment for players, officials, and fans, noting that effective cooperation with law enforcement is crucial to the smooth running of football operations nationwide.

“This engagement is very special and important to us. We are pleased to continue our collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force and recognise the critical role that the police play in football,” he said.

In his response, CP Dantawaye thanked Dr. Sanusi for the visit and assured that the FCT Police Command remains committed to providing a safe and conducive atmosphere for sporting activities in Abuja.

He pledged continued collaboration with the NFF to strengthen security and public order during football matches and related engagements.

As a gesture of goodwill, Dr. Sanusi presented a national team jersey to CP Dantawaye. He was accompanied on the visit by Mr. Barnabas Joro, the Federation’s Head of Safety and Security.
